Thank you! I wanted to make sure you know how appreciative i am of your hard work and time spent on this project. I'm INCREDIBLY grateful to be free of the lousy unusable n*tgear firmware.

I have an RAX200 successfully running 3.0.0.4_RAX200_R5.2.9_20233-g7c4f284_squbi w. and while it is better than n*tgear FW i'd like to either flash a more vanilla gt-ax11000 FW.

I've tried using ssh to change nvram variables:

    nvram set productid=GT-AX11000
    nvram set odmpid=GT-AX11000
    nvram set model=GT-AX11000
    nvram set boardid=GT-AX11000
    nvram commit

in an attempt to flash this FW from asus-merlinwrt (i think) GT-AX11000_3004_388.12_2_rog_ubi w

Upgrade fails to load and install.

I imagine nvram variables don't effect the upgrade requirements check?

Any insight would be helpful.

For future reference in case i need to revert -I'm assuming to revert to stock i will need to employ nmrpflash?

Title: RAX200 – Is WRS/AiProtection actually functional in SWRT 5.2.9?

Hi,

I am using SWRT 5.2.9 on a Netgear RAX200.

I tested the WRS/AiProtection functionality using Trend Micro's official WRS test site:

The site is classified by Trend Micro as dangerous, but when accessed from a client behind the RAX200, it is not blocked and no malicious-site hit appears in AiProtection.

I investigated the router and found:

• wred is running
• bwdpi_bitmap=0x1ff
• WRS signatures are present (version 2.524)
• wred has an active NETLINK_NETFILTER socket

The initial NVRAM settings were:

wrs_enable=0
wrs_protect_enable=1
wrs_mals_enable=1
wrs_vp_enable=1
wrs_cc_enable=1
wrs_app_enable=0

I temporarily changed:

wrs_enable=1

and rebooted the router.

However, the Trend Micro WRS test was still accessible from the client and no AiProtection alert was generated.

My question is:

Is WRS/AiProtection actually functional for RAX200 client traffic in SWRT 5.2.9, or is the WRS component present in the firmware but not connected to the client traffic inspection path on this platform?

If it is supposed to work, is there a specific configuration or service that needs to be enabled for WRS inspection on the RAX200?
