This is some code I had Gemini help me put together to expand our different video backends, there are multiple ways to handle this. Additionally, I tested all of these backends myself and had to really prompt the AI to get things to properly work. Though, I was also limited by my absolutely awful capture card constantly dying on Linux, so hopefully this will get you going in the right direction.
Basically, you should be able to choose a backend in the program settings. I think a few of these are Linux only (that's where I dev and run), but the principles are the same.
Do note that we need to some QT packages to get this all to work.
