- Detect base version from git tags on HEAD only (not ancestry) - Use 'dev' as base version when no version tag present - Support manual override via -PbaseVersion=X.Y.Z (must match tag on HEAD) - Require manual selection when multiple version tags exist on HEAD - Fail with clear error when override doesn't match available tags
- Use letter-based menu options (J/N/P/C) that remain consistent - Mark unavailable options clearly when they conflict with existing tags - Update documentation to explain tag-based version detection - Document letter-based menu and conflict resolution process
