Updates coverage from 7.10.7 to 7.13.0

Changelog

Sourced from coverage's changelog.

Version 7.13.0 — 2025-12-08

  • Feature: coverage.py now supports :file:.coveragerc.toml configuration files. These files use TOML syntax and take priority over :file:pyproject.toml but lower priority than :file:.coveragerc files. Closes issue 1643_ thanks to Olena Yefymenko <pull 1952_>_.

  • Fix: we now include a permanent .pth file which is installed with the code, fixing issue 2084. In 7.12.1b1 this was done incorrectly: it didn't work when using the source wheel (py3-none-any). This is now fixed. Thanks, Henry Schreiner <pull 2100_>.

  • Deprecated: when coverage.py is installed, it creates three command entry points: coverage, coverage3, and coverage-3.10 (if installed for Python 3.10). The second and third of these are not needed and will eventually be removed. They still work for now, but print a message about their deprecation.

.. _issue 1643: coveragepy/coveragepy#1643 .. _pull 1952: coveragepy/coveragepy#1952 .. _pull 2100: coveragepy/coveragepy#2100

.. _changes_7-12-1b1:

Version 7.12.1b1 — 2025-11-30

  • Fix: coverage.py now includes a permanent .pth file in the distribution which is installed with the code. This fixes issue 2084_: failure to patch for subprocess measurement when site-packages is not writable.

.. _issue 2084: coveragepy/coveragepy#2084

.. _changes_7-12-0:

Version 7.12.0 — 2025-11-18

  • The HTML report now shows separate coverage totals for statements and branches, as well as the usual combined coverage percentage. Thanks to Ryuta Otsuka for the discussion <issue 2081_>_ and the implementation <pull 2085_>_.

  • The JSON report now includes separate coverage totals for statements and branches, thanks to Ryuta Otsuka <pull 2090_>_.

  • Fix: except* clauses were not handled properly under the "sysmon"

Updates sentence-transformers from 5.1.1 to 5.1.2

Release notes

Sourced from sentence-transformers's releases.

v5.1.2 - Sentence Transformers joins Hugging Face; model saving/loading improvements and loss compatibility

This patch celebrates the transition of Sentence Transformers to Hugging Face, and improves model saving, loading defaults, and loss compatibilities.

Install this version with

# Training + Inference
pip install sentence-transformers[train]==5.1.2
Inference only, use one of:
pip install sentence-transformers==5.1.2
pip install sentence-transformers[onnx-gpu]==5.1.2
pip install sentence-transformers[onnx]==5.1.2
pip install sentence-transformers[openvino]==5.1.2

Sentence Transformers is joining Hugging Face!

Today, Sentence Transformers is moving from the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab at Technische Universität Darmstadt to Hugging Face. This formalizes the existing maintenance structure, as Tom Aarsen (that's me!) from Hugging Face has been maintaining the project for the past two years. The project's development roadmap, license, support, and commitment to the community remain unchanged. Read the full announcement for more details!

Minor changes re. saving and loading

  • Improve saving models with StaticEmbedding (#3524) and Dense (#3528) modules.
  • Fix training with CPU when "stronger" devices (CUDA, MPS) are available (#3525)
  • Default to 'xpu' device over 'cpu' if the former is available (#3537)

Minor changes re. losses

  • Change errors/warnings for MatryoshkaLoss to prevent easy-to-make mistakes, e.g. forgetting to use the original dimension (#3530)
  • Introduce compatibility between MSELoss and MatryoshkaLoss (#3538)
  • Also use mini-batches for positives with MegaBatchMarginLoss (#3550)

Updates huggingface-hub from 0.35.3 to 1.2.1

Release notes

Sourced from huggingface-hub's releases.

v1.2.1: Smarter Rate Limit Handling, Daily Papers API and more QoL improvements!

🚦 Smarter Rate Limit Handling

We've improved how the huggingface_hub library handles rate limits from the Hub. When you hit a rate limit, you'll now see clear, actionable error messages telling you exactly how long to wait and how many requests you have left.

HfHubHTTPError: 429 Too Many Requests for url: https://huggingface.co/api/models/username/reponame.
Retry after 55 seconds (0/2500 requests remaining in current 300s window).

When a 429 error occurs, the SDK automatically parses the RateLimit header to extract the exact number of seconds until the rate limit resets, then waits precisely that duration before retrying. This applies to file downloads (i.e. Resolvers), uploads, and paginated Hub API calls (list_models, list_datasets, list_spaces, etc.).

More info about Hub rate limits in the docs 👉 here.

✨ HF API

Daily Papers endpoint: You can now programmatically access Hugging Face's daily papers feed. You can filter by week, month, or submitter, and sort by publication date or trending.

from huggingface_hub import list_daily_papers
for paper in list_daily_papers(date="2025-12-03"):
print(paper.title)
DeepSeek-V3.2: Pushing the Frontier of Open Large Language Models
ToolOrchestra: Elevating Intelligence via Efficient Model and Tool Orchestration
MultiShotMaster: A Controllable Multi-Shot Video Generation Framework
Deep Research: A Systematic Survey
MG-Nav: Dual-Scale Visual Navigation via Sparse Spatial Memory
...

Add daily papers endpoint by @BastienGimbert in #3502 Add more parameters to daily papers by @Samoed in #3585

Offline mode helper: we recommend using huggingface_hub.is_offline_mode() to check whether offline mode is enabled instead of checking HF_HUB_OFFLINE directly.

Add offline_mode helper by @Wauplin in #3593 Rename utility to is_offline_mode by @Wauplin #3598

Inference Endpoints: You can now configure scaling metrics and thresholds when deploying endpoints.

feat(endpoints): scaling metric and threshold by @oOraph in #3525

7.1.3

2025-11-02

Enhancements

  • 2667_: enforce clang-format on all C and header files. It is now the mandatory formatting style for all C sources.
  • 2672_, [macOS], [BSD]: increase the chances to recognize zombie processes and raise the appropriate exception (ZombieProcess_).
  • 2676_, 2678_: replace unsafe sprintf / snprintf / sprintf_s calls with str_format(). Replace strlcat / strlcpy with safe str_copy / str_append. This unifies string handling across platforms and reduces unsafe usage of standard string functions, improving robustness.

Bug fixes

  • 2674_, [Windows]: disk_usage()_ could truncate values on 32-bit platforms, potentially reporting incorrect total/free/used space for drives larger than 4GB.
  • 2675_, [macOS]: Process.status()_ incorrectly returns "running" for 99% of the processes.
  • 2677_, [Windows]: fix MAC address string construction in net_if_addrs()_. Previously, the MAC address buffer was incorrectly updated using a fixed increment and sprintf_s, which could overflow or misformat the string if the MAC length or formatting changed. Also, the final '\n' was inserted unnecessarily.
  • 2679_, [OpenBSD], [NetBSD], [critical]: can't build due to C syntax error.

7.1.2

2025-10-25

Enhancements

  • 2657_: stop publishing prebuilt Linux and Windows wheels for 32-bit Python. 32-bit CPython is still supported, but psutil must now be built from source. 2565_: produce wheels for free-thread cPython 3.13 and 3.14 (patch by Lysandros Nikolaou)

Bug fixes

  • 2650_, [macOS]: Process.cmdline()_ and Process.environ()_ may incorrectly raise NoSuchProcess_ instead of ZombieProcess_.
  • 2658_, [macOS]: double free() in Process.environ()_ when it fails internally. This posed a risk of segfault.
  • 2662_, [macOS]: massive C code cleanup to guard against possible segfaults which were (not so) sporadically spotted on CI.
