A Software Engineering student at the University of Limerick who loves building well-designed, data-driven solutions.
Hi, I'm Nimra! I enjoy working across the full spectrum of software from designing distributed systems and applying software architecture patterns to building scalable data pipelines and analysing real-world datasets. I've worked on projects involving IoT, microservices, big data, and machine learning, and I'm always looking for opportunities to keep growing and building things that make an impact.
IoT | B.Tech Final Year Project – Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science
- Built a mobile-controlled robotic vehicle that autonomously navigates greenhouse environments, continuously collecting real-time temperature and humidity data using a DHT11 sensor.
- Integrated an ESP32 camera module to capture high-resolution leaf images, which were analysed using a VGG16 deep learning model to classify plant health and detect diseases such as early blight.
- Implemented a KNN algorithm to predict the next day's greenhouse temperature from historical sensor data, enabling proactive climate management.
- An Android mobile app to remotely control the robot's movement over Wi-Fi via the ESP8266 module, and a web interface to visualise live sensor data and prediction results.
Advanced Software Architecture | University of Limerick
- Distributed microservices-based system enabling users to search flights, reserve seats, and manage bookings.
- Uses an API Gateway for request routing across independent services.
Big Data | University of Limerick
- Scalable pipeline on Apache Spark and Databricks to predict hourly traffic volume from 7.5M+ TII sensor records.
- Implemented and tuned five Spark MLlib regression models.
