Requesting changes on b86d3dc.
I independently confirmed the three unresolved exact-head CodeRabbit findings. They need repair before approval:
- Constrain native probe placeholders to the NVIDIA credential identity and add wrong-name and malformed denial coverage.
- Reject malformed persisted native-provider authority before any rebuild mutation.
- Select the native provider name only when persisted route authority identifies a native route, preserving legacy managed nvidia-prod recovery.
Together these defects weaken credential and provider identity, and can make supported rebuild paths unsafe or unusable. Please resolve the existing inline threads; I will re-review the repaired commit.
I did not confirm the separate Advisor hard-limit finding because the exact-candidate live evidence shows all four limits passing.

Re-reviewed commit 061c21eb00bef25a5bef6201ca4ba7e20d293719.
The three earlier blocking findings are resolved: native probes now accept only the intended NVIDIA credential placeholder; keyless recovery distinguishes native and legacy provider registrations from persisted authority; and rebuild rejects malformed native-provider authority before any mutation, then revalidates provider identity at the delete edge.
The trusted gate reports all 75 current checks green, all nine commits verified, no unresolved CodeRabbit finding, and regression coverage for the risky paths. I found no remaining blocking correctness or security defect.
## Outcome Restore native NVIDIA onboarding and rebuild verification through the common sandbox policy and inference probe. The repair applies across agents. Deep Agents also keeps authentication compatibility for restored configurations. ## Reason The reporter confirmed that the sandbox proxy denies `/usr/bin/curl` to `integrate.api.nvidia.com:443`: CONNECT returns 403 and curl exits with 56. The endpoint rule exists, but its binary scope excludes the shared probe. OpenShell 0.0.116 does not enable provider-derived policy composition by default. Native requests also need the supervisor-issued credential placeholder. ### Related issues Fixes #12822. Refs #11162. Credential changes reuse #12793 (`c23d20327374497d08ab5e332c191d88927c0369`, Prekshi Vyas); that PR's separate startup changes remain there. ## Changes - Derive the native inference grant from the attached provider profile during creation and rebuild. Keep it sandbox-scoped, preserve operator rules, and reject conflicting entries. Common policy tests cover all five agent policy inputs. - Use the attached `NVIDIA_INFERENCE_API_KEY` placeholder in the common probe and native live requests. Deep Agents additionally needs a process-local compatibility alias because regenerated image configuration cannot update restored home files; wrapper and module tests cover it. - Retain sanitized failure codes from completed Deep Agents probes. Explicit rebuilds to a non-native provider remove the generated NVIDIA grant. Rebuilds without a replacement provider preserve it. Regression tests also verify that unrelated host rules and the source policy remain unchanged. ## Verification Validated commit `4ace4fce36cd4ba63ab4b1f3d7a1285c5a3252e1`: - Required pre-push publication validation and CLI TypeScript checks passed. - Protecting policy suites: 63 passed; the provider-transition regression failed before the repair. - Source architecture gate passed after replacing the barrel import with its defining module. - Focused CLI batch: 240 passed. All 25 sandbox-registration cases passed in the resumed full-access session. - Deep Agents wrapper and direct-module suites: 254 passed, two platform skips. - Inference-switch support: 43 Hermes cases and 19 OpenClaw cases passed. - GitHub verifies all published commits. The diff contains no secrets, API keys, or credentials. [Review and validation details](#12826 (comment)) record the repair disposition and local checks. Hosted CI, automated review, and the selected trusted E2E run remain pending for this commit. ## Review notes Local review status: **alternative review completed**. Full-diff self-review covered correctness, security boundaries, regression coverage, and test selection against canonical `main` `929d9f5287178d9bc2d744425c7bfb40d028ea37`. The local Advisor failed before specialist analysis because its Lima disk could not fit the pinned sandbox image. Task-owned sandbox, gateway, and controller cleanup was verified. Older independent Advisor reports supplement the self-review but do not clear this commit. No Advisor clearance, maintainer approval, or CI waiver is claimed. <!-- markdownlint-disable MD041 --> ## Outcome Repeated onboarding reuses a healthy retained OpenShell gateway registration when its normalized scheme, host, and port match the declared external gateway. Conflicting, malformed, unhealthy, or changed authority fails closed while preserving retained state. Failed rebuilds now direct users back through `nemoclaw <sandbox> rebuild --yes`, preserving explicit options and resuming the retained backup and rebuild transaction even without MCP servers. OpenClaw maintenance gates also tolerate a valid atomic marker replacement when a concurrent metadata read observes the unlinked old inode. They recheck the current path before allowing gateway startup. ## Reason Repeated onboarding previously tried to add an existing named registration, which OpenShell rejects. The attachment path must reload lifecycle authority after asynchronous operations before another mutation. An inherited marker-read race failed CLI shard 12. Linux can return a zero-link metadata snapshot during atomic replacement. Discarding that snapshot avoids rejecting a valid release without relaxing marker validation. ### Related issues Fixes #12622 ## Changes - Correct the zero-MCP recovery command: generic `onboard --resume` rejects the DCode approval flag and computes a different recreate target. Use the existing rebuild recovery owner for both MCP and zero-MCP cases; retain transaction identity checks. - Reuse only a healthy registration with the declared endpoint; register only when absent. - Recheck lifecycle authority before mutation and limit cleanup to registrations created by the current attempt. - Verify the reused registration is active and healthy. Preserve existing registrations when verification fails. - Extend the preinstalled Launchable journey through retained-registration teardown, fresh onboarding, inference, and final cleanup. - Recheck zero-link marker snapshots in both doctor and backup-quiesce polling loops within their existing retry budget. Deterministic tests cover trusted replacements, unsafe permissions, hardlinks, symlinks, and retry exhaustion. - Merge current main to use its dependency manifests and publication validation, preserving existing PR ancestry. ## Verification - Recovery repair `a5c74e6c36233edd9652b832bac813aea7210e9b`: **232 focused tests passed**, including gateway reuse, interrupted rebuild, saved policy/state restoration, and transaction mismatch rejection. All three new printed-command regressions fail against the original implementation. CLI/plugin builds and normal commit hooks passed, including growth checks. - The zero-MCP recovery tests now execute the printed command for ordinary recovery and both DCode approval modes. Previous tests only matched the incorrect guidance and covered approval flags with MCP present. - Live evidence from inference candidate `4d258c611` exposed the recovery defect; it does not qualify this repaired head. Combined live Brev validation remains pending. - Updated-dependency focused run: **133 passed** across the doctor-marker, gateway-host-runtime, and gateway-reuse-cli test files. - Before the repair, both deterministic trusted-marker replacement cases failed with the same security diagnostic as CI. - Linux atomic-replacement experiment: 390 of 100,000 path reads observed zero-link metadata. - CLI and plugin builds and type checks passed with an 8 GiB Node heap. The default-heap CLI check exhausted memory before the successful retry. - Shell syntax, ShellCheck, shell formatting, Oxlint, Oxfmt, and whitespace checks passed for the repair. - Signed merge `5eee3f401a83` and repair `fbaf7bd602b3`: all normal commit hooks passed. GitHub verifies both commits. - Normal pre-push publication validation, JavaScript type check, and CLI type check passed. - Previous candidate: `fbaf7bd602b35ed56dad3c92e72dc45c5eb436be`; its test and review evidence below is historical after the recovery repair. - Full candidate diff reviewed; no secrets, API keys, or credentials introduced. ## Review notes The recovery repair has local source review and regression evidence; fresh CI and scheduled reviews for `a5c74e6c36233edd9652b832bac813aea7210e9b` remain pending. Its transaction guards are unchanged. No fresh human approval or live pass is claimed. Sensitive paths include `src/lib/onboard/**` and `scripts/nemoclaw-start.sh`. The marker repair was reviewed for path validation, release authorization, failure cleanup, and bounded retries. Zero-link snapshots never authorize release; the next iteration validates the current path. Hosted Advisor reviewed prior head `fbaf7bd602b35ed56dad3c92e72dc45c5eb436be`: all nine specialists completed with clear findings ledgers, including the marker repair. Summaries, ledgers, and E2E recommendations were inspected. All nine retained Advisor ledgers for prior commit `5cc7339a87cc2b636f5547ea86c1843e1cfe2c74` were clear. Prior CodeRabbit endpoint-identity and final-cleanup-health findings are addressed. Prior-head CI run [37839433148](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37839433148), managed-image run [37839433157](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37839433157), and Advisor run [37841792629](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37841792629) passed. This includes all 12 CLI shards and both Docker and rootless Podman runtime activation. CodeRabbit reports a successful status, but its automatic reviews remain paused and its latest review covers the prior head; no fresh CodeRabbit review is claimed. The old shard 3 job was cancelled during OS search-tool installation before tests began. Its missing coverage artifact and the aggregate failures do not establish another candidate regression. All 12 shards and aggregate CI passed on prior candidate `fbaf7bd602b35ed56dad3c92e72dc45c5eb436be`. The original-head Brev run passed deployment and exact-head checks but failed NVIDIA inference. The maintainer has now requested recommended E2E for this repaired commit. Staging Brev Launchable and the remaining deterministic selectors were dispatched; both initial attempts stopped at the pending managed-image prerequisite before live execution. No live passing result is claimed for this repair. The local setup doctor passed build, type, signing, and authentication checks but reported the Mac Docker daemon unavailable. The non-live tests and publication validation do not require that daemon. --- Signed-off-by: Rebecca Sliter <571084+rsliter@users.noreply.github.com> Signed-off-by: Julie Yaunches <jyaunches@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Prekshi Vyas <prekshiv@nvidia.com> <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Onboarding can reuse a healthy existing gateway registration when its endpoint matches, including after a sandbox is removed. * **Bug Fixes** * Conflicting, unhealthy, or unverified existing registrations are preserved for inspection rather than replaced or removed. * Recovery guidance now consistently recommends rebuilding the sandbox after a replacement-creation failure, including when no MCP entries need restoring. * **Documentation** * Gateway lifecycle guidance now explains reuse, endpoint matching, and registration retention during onboarding failures. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Current qualification evidence Commit: `a5c74e6c36233edd9652b832bac813aea7210e9b`. - **Alternative review completed.** Full candidate diff and adjacent authority/recovery code reviewed for correctness, security, cleanup ownership, and regression coverage. This is primary-agent source review, not independent review or Advisor clearance. No actionable finding identified. - Local Docker Advisor could not prepare its trusted checkout: the existing Lima VM filesystem was 98% full and Git reported `No space left on device`. No specialist completed. The task controller was removed; no task sandbox or gateway remained. - **336 focused tests passed** across seven files, covering retained gateway attachment, endpoint observation, rebuild recovery and explicit options, marker replacement, and E2E cleanup helpers. CLI/plugin builds and canonical `npm run validate:pr`, including CLI type checking, passed. No source change was needed. - [Required ordinary CI](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37862600093) passed. [Current-commit hosted Advisor](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37864283049) passed: all nine specialist summaries, findings ledgers, and E2E recommendations are clear, and the blocker gate passed. CodeRabbit completed; its trivial public-dispatch coverage suggestion is already covered by `test/cli/rebuild-recovery-routing.test.ts:174`, which executes the name-first rebuild through the real CLI and compiled worker. That suite passed. No unresolved review threads remain. Prior review evidence above remains historical. - [Staging Brev Launchable](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37863572187) and [remaining deterministic E2E](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37863648694) attempt 1 failed before live execution because [managed images](https://github.com/NVIDIA/NemoClaw/actions/runs/37862600087) had not completed. The missing matrix and aggregate JSON error are downstream consequences. Managed-image qualification has now passed. Both failed-job reruns were requested as attempt 2 at 00:41 UTC on October 9, preserving candidate, trusted workflow, and selectors. This re-evaluates the changed prerequisite. Attempt 2 is now terminal: seven focused product jobs passed, including protected AMD64/ARM64 startup and GPU/local inference; ten jobs failed with provider HTTP 429 responses before their substantive scenarios. These are not passing qualifications. Brev passed exact-source/boot checks, reused the healthy external gateway, built its sandbox image, and created the sandbox, then failed initial onboarding at the native NVIDIA sandbox invocation probe (exit 56). The retained teardown/reonboard assertions were unreached. Brev workspace deletion and test cleanup are confirmed. The source matches the native curl-policy and credential-placeholder defects addressed by merged main dependencies #12826 and #12793. A clean local base integration is prepared, with 159 focused source tests, five real-CLI recovery-routing tests, and the CLI build passing. It is not committed or published; the full E2E assertion audit remains in progress before publication or another live run. - Target label: `v0.0.132`. The PR was marked ready on October 9 at 01:14 UTC; selected live E2E qualification remains incomplete. Additional routing checks: 84/85 tests passed. The sole failure was an experimental SQLite warning on local Node v22.22.1 in the unrelated doctor JSON stderr assertion; the unchanged test passed with only that warning class suppressed. Both rebuild routing files passed without suppression. Original failure and diagnostic evidence retained. --------- Signed-off-by: Rebecca Sliter <571084+rsliter@users.noreply.github.com> Signed-off-by: Julie Yaunches <jyaunches@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Prekshi Vyas <prekshiv@nvidia.com> Co-authored-by: Rebecca Sliter <571084+rsliter@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Julie Yaunches <jyaunches@nvidia.com> Co-authored-by: Prekshi Vyas <prekshiv@nvidia.com>
Outcome
CPU DCode onboarding preserves the sandbox created by OpenShell, and native NVIDIA inference uses the supervisor-issued credential placeholder throughout configuration, model construction, and health checks. Rebuild preflight reuses the recorded native provider identity and rejects replacement or expired credentials before deleting the sandbox.
Reason
On Brev, forcing Docker recreation left an OpenShell 0.0.116 sandbox in terminal Error before chat could run. Subsequent live testing exposed native-provider policy, constructor authentication, response-format, and rebuild lookup errors. The managed DCode entrypoint already enforces the required process limits without recreating the CPU sandbox.

061c21eb00bef25a5bef6201ca4ba7e20d293719. CI and automated review are green, but reliable real interactive inference, tools/rebuild, and restart inference acceptance remain incomplete. The latest live evidence above is from this exact candidate. It is a manual development checkout on an existing Brev instance, not qualification of a newly baked Launchable image. The original blocked-memfd runtime checks pass; the remaining inference/API failures are not a complete live acceptance pass. Their underlying service/proxy cause has not been established. No unchanged live retry was performed.Merged #12837 is already integrated from canonical
5f765a1318a2338114a1f6865de3113d9083b405; no further dependency PR is required for that installer fix.Self-review covers the sensitive
agents/langchain-deepagents-code/**,src/lib/onboard/**,src/lib/inference/**, and provider-adapter changes, including credential ownership, native provider identity, policy composition, and startup limits. No independent approval is claimed. Rebecca’s review ofb86d3dcconfirmed three CodeRabbit findings; this candidate addresses all three with regression tests. All nine Advisor specialists forb86d3dccompleted successfully: three findings duplicate the credential-placeholder repair. Rebecca did not confirm the separate hard-limit finding because the exact-candidate live evidence passes all four limits. The repaired sensitive paths await independent re-review.The separately selected GPU compatibility recreation lifecycle remains outside this CPU Brev fix.
