The unglamorous truth about AI features: most fail on retrieval and evaluation, not on the model. Getting the right context in front of the model, and knowing when its answer is wrong, is where the engineering actually lives. Prompt-only demos look great in a screen recording and fall apart in week two.

Worth saying out loud, because it saves us both an email:
- I won't train a foundation model for you, and I'll usually argue you don't need a fine-tune when better retrieval would fix it more cheaply.
- If you need a five-page brochure site and nothing more, a template on Webflow or Squarespace will cost you less than I will.
A short conversation about goals and timeline, then a clear scope, then building in stages with regular updates over whatever channel your team already uses. A focused site can launch in one to two weeks; larger products get staged so you see progress continuously.
I overlap working hours with US and UK time zones when a project needs live collaboration, and work fully async with a written daily update when that fits better.
