A minimalist, vertically framed visualization of a quantum wave packet scattering from a two-dimensional lattice. The animation combines a coherent Gaussian packet with phase-driven radial scattering, reflection, transmission, and edge diffraction to create dense, physically inspired interference patterns.
- Format: H.264 MP4, 720 × 1280 (9:16)
- Duration: 22 seconds at 24 fps
- Visual language: black scientific plotting field, crisp white lattice sites, and chromatic phase interference
The finished animation is available at quantum_lattice_scattering_9x16.mp4.

The responsive web app plays the 9:16 animation directly in the browser, includes an accessible play/pause control, and preserves the simulation’s scientific framing on desktop and mobile. It is a zero-build static site: index.html provides the experience, while netlify.toml publishes the repository root and applies long-lived caching to the MP4.
The renderer streams RGB frames from Python into a small Swift/AVFoundation encoder:
swiftc -O -framework AVFoundation -framework CoreVideo encode_h264.swift -o encode_h264
python3 render_quantum_simulation.py | ./encode_h264 quantum_lattice_scattering_9x16.mp4render_quantum_simulation.py requires Python with NumPy and Pillow; encoding requires macOS with AVFoundation.
