Summary

Uses @maple-dev/alchemy to declare Hazel's production monitoring in the stack (packages/infra/src/cloudflare/maple-monitoring.ts), on prd deploys with MAPLE_API_KEY:

  • Dashboard "Hazel services": requests, error rate, p95 and p99 per service (api, electric-proxy, bot-gateway), production root spans only.
  • Alert rules per Worker: error rate > 5% over 5 min (critical) and p95 > 2s over 10 min (warning), with 2 consecutive breaches and at least 20 samples. They are builder_query rules scoped to deployment.environment = "production", because preview deploys report under the same service names and the provider's rule props have no environment filter.
  • Destination: a Maple webhook pointing at Hazel's own Maple incoming webhook (/webhooks/incoming/<id>/<token>/maple), so alerts post into a Hazel channel. It is only declared when MAPLE_ALERTS_WEBHOOK_URL is set; without it, only the dashboard is created.

Before deploying

  • Create a Maple webhook on the alerts channel in Hazel (Integrations → Maple) and set its URL as the MAPLE_ALERTS_WEBHOOK_URL GitHub secret.
  • Make sure the MAPLE_API_KEY secret also has dashboards:write and alerts:write.

Testing

  • tsc -p tsconfig.alchemy.json and the @hazel/infra typecheck both pass.
  • The rule query syntax (deployment.environment, root_only) passed Maple's alert preview, but in a Maple org with no Hazel data. Nothing has been deployed yet.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added production monitoring dashboards for key services, showing request volume, error rates, and response times.
    • When an alert destination is configured, production monitoring now sends alerts for elevated error rates and slow responses. Without a destination, the dashboard remains available, but alerts are not configured.
    • Monitoring is enabled only for production deployments using Maple.

On prd deploys with MAPLE_API_KEY, the stack declares a "Hazel services"
dashboard and error-rate / p95 alert rules for the api, electric-proxy and
bot-gateway Workers through @maple-dev/alchemy. Rules are builder queries
scoped to deployment.environment = "production" over root spans, since
preview deploys report under the same service names.

Alerts deliver to a webhook destination pointing at Hazel's own Maple
incoming webhook (MAPLE_ALERTS_WEBHOOK_URL), so they land in a Hazel
channel. Without it only the dashboard is declared.

📝 Walkthrough

The pull request adds a Maple monitoring module with a production services dashboard and optional per-service alerts. The production deployment workflow supplies the Maple credentials and webhook setting. The stack invokes monitoring for production Maple deployments and returns the dashboard ID and alert-rule count.

Changes: Production Maple monitoring

Layer / File(s) Summary
Dashboard and alert declarations
packages/infra/src/cloudflare/maple-monitoring.ts
The module declares a 12-hour dashboard with request-count, error-rate, p95-latency, and p99-latency charts for api, electric-proxy, and bot-gateway. When the webhook URL is set, it also declares a webhook destination and error-rate and p95-latency alerts for each service.
Production deployment integration
packages/infra/package.json, alchemy.run.ts, .github/workflows/deploy-prd.yml, infra/README.md
The package exports the monitoring module. The stack invokes it only for production Maple deployments and returns its optional dashboard ID and alert-rule count. The production workflow supplies the webhook secret, and the README documents the required permissions and optional destination.

The dashboard could show an additional production service, but the current telemetry callers are the three intended services. The change is mergeable with awareness of that scope gap.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Limit the dashboard query to the three Hazel services.

If another service sends production root spans to the same Maple organization, this query adds that service to all four charts. The dashboard then shows more than the three services named in its description. Add a service.name filter using HAZEL_TELEMETRY_SERVICES, while retaining the production and root-span filters.
