This is basically ready to run mvc project sample which works with both run configurations (Spring, Tomcat local server)

I used https://start.spring.io/ as a starter with this settings
Dependencies : Maven Project Java Spring Web

Packaging : War

Java : 11

Instructions for Dev Tools to work :

1.Add LiveReload extension in your browser.

2.In your intellij IDEA go to: file->settings->build,execution,deployment. Go to ->compiler->build project automatically.

3.In your intellij IDEA: SHIFT+Ctrl+A ->registry-> compiler.automake.allow.when.app.running
