Hi there, I'm James Beta

Economics graduate turned data practitioner, based in Nairobi, Kenya. I build decision-support tools that turn raw operational data into something a non-technical stakeholder can actually act on.

What I've worked on:

  • Built a small business's first-ever digital inventory dashboard in Power BI, cutting manual reconciliation from a full day to a few hours
  • Contributed to a geospatial site-selection project applying the Huff Gravitational Model in Python, helping narrow retail site candidates in Cape Town down to 3 optimal locations
  • Spent two years as a technical facilitator for a pan-African tech training organization, debugging learner code in Python and SQL and resolving technical queries across concurrent cohorts

Currently:

  • Open to roles in data analysis, business intelligence, and data science
