Summary

Ephemeral AWS up/curl/destroy for CSS FastAPI on ECS Fargate (stretch; Friday MUST stays local).

  • Terraform under platform/terraform/credit-css-serve-demo/: ECR (force_delete) + ECS Fargate (256 CPU / 512 MB, desired 1), default VPC, assign_public_ip, SG open 8000, no ALB, local state, region default eu-west-1
  • platform/scripts/demo-up.sh / demo-down.sh: require AWS_PROFILE; prepare/bake via Bake-image local path for CSS serve demo (no AWS) #173 → build/push → apply → print public curls; destroy includes ECR images
  • Operator docs: platform/docs/ephemeral-css-serve-demo.md (linked from friday-demo stretch + platform README)
  • Feature spec status updated for Ephemeral AWS up/curl/destroy for CSS FastAPI (Fargate) #174 code path; live ACs remain HITL
  • make platform-tf-check — terraform fmt + validate only (no apply in CI/agent)

Parent / tickets

How Jorge runs it

export AWS_PROFILE=your-demo-profile
export AWS_REGION=eu-west-1 # optional
./platform/scripts/demo-up.sh
# curl /health /score /drivers as printed
./platform/scripts/demo-down.sh

Out of scope

S3 lake, ALB/TLS, auth, GitHub CD/OIDC, SageMaker, batch fit/PSI on AWS.

Test plan

  • make platform-tf-check (fmt + validate)
  • bash -n on demo-up/down
  • HITL: AWS_PROFILE + demo-up → curl fixtures → demo-down (agent did not apply)

AWS CreateSecurityGroup rejects non-ASCII characters; the em dash and
arrow in the demo SG description blocked terraform apply mid-HITL.

I launched the demo on my aws account, and it worked. Scripts and terraform work as intended.
