Housekeeping before 1.2.0, since this text becomes the release notes.

Each PR prepended its own block, so [Unreleased] had accumulated four separate ### Fixed headers and ran in the order Changed, Fixed, Fixed, Fixed, Fixed, Added, Deprecated:

### Changed (3)
### Fixed (34)
### Fixed (43)
### Fixed (65)
### Fixed (80)
### Added (97)
### Deprecated (115)

Now:

### Added
### Changed
### Deprecated
### Fixed

Entry text is untouched — the regrouping is mechanical, and a check asserts all 11 top-level bullets survive verbatim; only their grouping and order changed. Docs build clean.

Same cleanup c12642d did for 1.0.0, which suggests it will recur every release cycle. Worth a make changelog check or a note in CONTRIBUTING.md's release section if it becomes annoying.

Each PR prepended its own block, so [Unreleased] had accumulated four
separate '### Fixed' headers and the sections ran Changed, Fixed, Added,
Deprecated -- neither valid Keep a Changelog nor readable as release
notes, which is what this text becomes.

Regrouped into Added, Changed, Deprecated, Fixed. Entry text is
untouched: all 11 top-level bullets are preserved verbatim, only their
grouping and order changed.

Same cleanup as c12642d did for 1.0.0.
