What changed

Two new pages and one fix.

  • /blog/codex-vs-cursor/: "codex vs cursor" has 1,600 searches a month at difficulty 0 (OpenSEO, 6 Oct 2026). 1,145 words, four bright scenes and a title card, one link from what-is-codex. This is the page held back this morning.
  • /blog/gemini-cli-vs-claude-code/: 1,600 searches a month at difficulty 0. 1,149 words, four bright scenes and a title card, one link from how-to-install-gemini-cli.
  • Fix: grok-bot-pricing gets a shorter search title and description. It had 3,145 impressions at position 6.6 and a 0.51% click rate (Search Console, 24 Sep to 7 Oct), and its description was 200 characters, so Google cut it. It is now 149.

A third page, Cursor alternatives, was written and held back: it failed fact review twice (the second time on one dropped "if billed monthly"), so by the engine rule it does not ship. The draft and its one open fix are saved for the next run.

Checks

  • Gate: pass on both new pages with media and motion checks on, and on what-is-codex and how-to-install-gemini-cli. Build and node tools/check-release-links.cjs: pass.
  • grok-bot-pricing fails the gate on three older points that also fail on main (it failed four before this change). Only its search title and description changed. Cursor's pricing page still lists a $20 plan with Grok Bot access; SpaceXAI's pricing page returned 403, so the SuperGrok prices in the body were not rechecked.
  • Codex vs Cursor: the morning's three open fixes were applied. Tonight's first review found every price, plan, quote and licence correct and failed it on one stale fact: Codex shipped rust-v0.161.0 today. Fixed, plus three qualifiers the reviewer suggested. A fresh reviewer then passed it, including the redrawn scene texts.
  • Gemini CLI vs Claude Code: passed fact review on the first round. Google's transition notice was read through the GitHub API and all four quotes match word for word.
  • Scene labels were checked against each post body by me. Scenes swap in on the built pages in headless Chrome (4 of 4 on both). Tap actions: tested by the scene builder on Codex vs Cursor, not exercised on Gemini CLI vs Claude Code. Not tested: Safari, Firefox, a real phone.
  • This branch, seo-engine: day 09 PM, Mistral Large 4, two versus pages, OpenDots on the dots alternatives page #704 and seo-engine: launch desk 7 Oct 13:00 IST, OpenAI Decisions API #708 all add to media.json and the built blog, so after one merges the others need a rebase. I will do it.

Before

No page existed for either name; the live URLs returned 404 on 7 Oct 2026. The old search snippet of grok-bot-pricing was "Grok Bot Pricing 2026: Every Plan, Free Trial and Cheapest Way In" with a 200 character description.
