#27378 landed on 2026-09-15, while
masterwas still 7.2.0-beta. Since this was post feature freeze it was backed out (#27396 here, Graylog2/graylog-plugin-enterprise#15627 on the enterprise side), with the explicit plan to re-land it later.This PR is that re-land, opened now so the work is not lost and the diff is ready to go. It should be merged once the 7.2 release branch has been cut and
