Release behavior

The new workflow builds and validates assets on this PR but cannot publish from a PR. After merge to main it repeats the checks, creates a draft v1.2.1 release at the exact merge commit, uploads source/PDF/TeX/review/check logs, downloads and byte-compares every upload, then publishes and verifies GitHub reports immutability. Existing releases are never overwritten. Review the build and all tests before merging.
