When I started GlitchSecure, I did so out of frustration with the growing trend of venture backed PTaaS providers who —in my opinion— were adopting the Uber method of relying on "global pools of talent", also known as misclassifed and underpaid tech workers. Taking this approach not only meant a race to the bottom for quantity over quality, but also a real and often overal negative impact on human lives. On top of this, the global pandemic and growing recognition that not getting a wage increase in the face of ever growing inflation really meant a pay cut, mass layoffs across tech, and general apathy towards rewarding efforts made it abundently clear that leadership within some organisations treated it's workforce as a disposible resource to be consumed.

While I never expected GlitchSecure to reach the size and growth potential it is at today, without the very people who continue to embody the mission alongside me, it simply would not have been achievable as a solo feat.

Recogonizing this success has been built by the hard work of many, and that my general approach to maintaining healthy work life balance has only helped fuel that success, I feel strongly that this cultuture is something we must uphold and maintain. In this article I will highlight some of the ways we have achieved this over the previous 3 years.

<!-- Author's note, this post is a work in progress outline. My hope is to have the team provide input and writing for this article -->

## Employee Ownership

So many tech companies talk about how they have "genourous equity compensation", and while we're no different we have gone a step further. As of November 2024 our ESOP (Employee Stock Option Pool) is equal to that of all of our investor ownership combined. That means employees will have a chance to not just own a portion of the company, but own just as much as our investors.

While this came at a signifcant dilution cost to myself as a founder, I feel strongly that a rising tide lifts all ships and that this move will only further ensure the very people who ensure our success have a chance to be awarded for that.

## 32 Hour / 4 day work week

> At GlitchSecure we believe in maintaining a stable work-life balance. As such, we do not enforce schedules and try to cap work hours to a maximum of 32 hours per week. Your day-to-day schedule will be largely defined by you, as long as you perform your assigned responsibilities, keep up with asynchronous communication, and show up for meetings as agreed upon with team members we won’t question when, where, or how you work.
>
> For some people that means a typical 4-day work week, for others that might mean variable start/end times for their day. At GlitchSecure you control your schedule and can adjust it in whatever way works best for you!
