PSA: This 'risk' is irrelevant for 99.99% of PyShp users. It only affects developers installing the dev environment via uv.lock in a Python 3.9 venv. I created the lock file, and only have filelock v3.29.0 installed in my PyShp project venv. The vulnerability in filelock v3.19.1 also requires a "local attacker". If this risk is unacceptable to you, please let us know. The correct fix is for us to either tweak the lock file to disallow using it on Python 3.9, drop the documentation-'dependency' on pre-commit in the lint group, or expedite dropping support for Python 3.9 altogether (and hopefully cut down on similar noise). |
