Set up graft across the repo with Claude helper scripts, status/hooks wiring, MCP config, and shared agent instructions for Copilot and Claude. Also ignore the generated graft cache while keeping the graph searchable locally.
The committed setup was not usable by anyone else: .mcp.json carried an
absolute path under C:/Users/buzbe/, and the AGENTS.md / copilot-instructions
sections asserted a project-wide policy ("consult graft for ANY task, avoid
grepping") that belongs in a discussion, not a diff.
None of it needs to live here. Claude Code reads hooks, statusLine, skills and
MCP servers from user-level config, so the whole integration now sits in
~/.claude and applies to every project without touching a single repo. The
hooks no-op unless the project actually has a graft/ graph, so a checkout
without one pays nothing.
.gitignore and .ignore keep their graft/ entries: the graph is a regenerable
local cache like node_modules, and ignoring it is portable and policy-free.
