Scroll Blocker v2.0

"Not made by a boomer."

Scroll Blocker 2.0 has evolved from a simple script into a highly aggressive, fully customizable productivity engine. It doesn't just close YouTube Shorts anymore; it actively fights your dopamine addiction using gamification, dynamic punishments, and hardcore lockout mechanics.

The Feature Arsenal

This massive 2.0 update introduces 25 new systems to keep you focused:

Gamification & Tracking

  • Focus Streak: Tracks your consecutive days of pure, unbroken productivity.
  • Shame Coins System: Accumulates virtual negative currency every time you trigger the blocker.
  • Life Seconds Saved: Converts blocked Shorts into an estimated metric of actual real-life minutes saved.
  • Weekly Goals Checklist: Tracks your progress against a minimum weekly focus baseline.
  • Midnight Rollover Sync: Automatically resets your daily attempt allowances based on your local timezone.

The Punishment Engine

  • Custom Redirect URL: Forces your browser to open a specific website (like your online course or a Wikipedia page) when you fail.
  • Rickroll Lottery: Configure a percentage chance to secretly swap the standard audio punishment with Rick Astley.
  • Motivational Desktop Insults: Pushes native OS notifications that insult your lack of discipline when you slip up.
  • Blur Screen Intensity: Dynamically blurs the YouTube interface right before the blocker execution triggers.
  • Auto-Mute Trigger: Instantly mutes the video player before the tab is nuked to prevent audio bleed from Shorts.
  • Ghost Mode: Disables all audio and notifications for a completely silent execution (perfect for office or school environments).
  • Granular Volume Control: Analog slider specifically dedicated to managing the punishment audio volume.
  • Audio Pitch Modifier: Speeds up or slows down the punishment audio frequency for custom comedic effect.

Hardcore Lockout Mechanics

  • Strict Configuration Mode: Prevents you from disabling the extension's settings if you have already failed an attempt today.
  • Max Daily Attempts Allowance: Sets a hard limit on how many times you can fail before the extension takes extreme measures.
  • Hard Lockout Status: Revokes your access to YouTube entirely if you exhaust your daily fail allowance.
  • Blackout Mode: Extends the blocking protocol to the entirety of the YouTube domain, not just Shorts.

Smart Filtering & Accessibility

  • Right-Click Context Menu: Highlight text on any page, right-click, and instantly add it to your blocker Whitelist.
  • Multi-Keyword Array Splitting: Supports complex, comma-separated whitelists to bypass educational content.
  • Timed Blocker Schedule: Automatically restricts your blocking hours so you can scroll freely after your workday ends.
  • Responsive Control Grid: A brand new, ultra-compact UI dashboard to manage the massive array of new settings.

Engine Architecture

  • Engine Refresh Optimization: Detection cycle reduced to 250ms to beat Chrome's dynamic rendering and kill the tab instantly.
  • Advanced Debounce Engine: Prevents the accidental closing of legitimate search tabs during cyclic redirects.
  • Audio Script Isolation: Bypasses Chrome's strict Content Security Policies for guaranteed audio playback.
  • Cross-Session Storage Cache: Configurations and stats are permanently cached and never expire on browser close.
