The repo ships no LICENSE, so by default copyright law it is all rights reserved — public, but not legally usable, adaptable or deployable by anyone else. I doubt that is the intent for something published as a reference deployment.

Why Apache-2.0 rather than MIT: the explicit patent grant. That is the clause legal review asks for by name once a recipe is adopted inside a regulated company, and MIT has no answer to it. Graphiti and most of the comparable memory/vault projects landed on Apache-2.0 for the same reason.

That said — the licence choice is yours, and only you can make it: merging this PR is the licensing act, I am just supplying the file. Swap it for MIT or anything else and I will happily close this.

No other changes; the link-health suggestion is in a separate PR so you can take them independently.

The repository currently ships no LICENSE, which under default copyright law
means all rights reserved: nobody can legally run, copy or adapt it, however
public it is. That is almost certainly not the intent for something published
as a reference deployment.

Apache-2.0 is proposed rather than MIT because it carries an explicit patent
grant. That is the difference that matters if the recipe is ever adopted inside
a regulated company — legal review asks for it by name, and its absence is a
blocker that MIT cannot answer. It is also what comparable projects in this
space use (Graphiti, for one).

Swap it for MIT or anything else if you prefer; the point of the PR is that
*some* licence exists, not that it is this one. Only you can license the work,
so merging this is the licensing act — I am only providing the file.
