Codex-Mini works on most modern computers. Ensure your system meets these standards:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- Memory: At least 4GB of RAM.
- Storage: 200MB of free disk space.
- Processor: A standard dual-core processor or better.
Most computers purchased in the last five years meet these needs. If your computer runs standard office software or web browsers, it runs Codex-Mini.
Download the installer from the link above. Double-click the file named Codex-Mini-Setup.exe in your Downloads folder. Windows might show a warning message. This happens because the software is new. To bypass this, click More Info, then click Run Anyway.
The installer opens a window. Click Next until the progress bar completes. Choose a location on your hard drive for the files or use the default folder. Click Finish to close the installer. A shortcut icon appears on your desktop.
Open the app using the new desktop shortcut. The main window displays your file dashboard. You see your folders on the left side of the screen. The center space shows your currently viewed items.
To add files, drag them from your computer folder directly into the app window. The system reads the content and assigns tags to each file. You can create your own tags if the automatic ones do not fit your needs.
Use the search bar at the top of the interface to find items. Type a word related to your file. The search tool looks through file names and the tags you assigned. Results show up in the center screen as you type. Click any result to open the file.
Codex-Mini stores your index data locally on your computer. Your files stay in the folders you chose. The program does not send your data to any servers. You keep full control of your private information at all times.
Click the gear icon in the top right corner to open preferences. Here, you can change the folder locations that the app monitors. You can also pick a light or dark theme for the interface. Adjust these settings to match your workflow.
What if the app does not open? Restart your computer. Sometimes the system needs a reboot to finish the installation process.
Can I move my files after they are tagged? The app tracks file locations. If you move a file using Windows Explorer, use the refresh button in the app to update the index.
Does the app work offline? Yes. Codex-Mini requires no internet connection to function. It works perfectly while you remain offline.
How do I remove the app? Open the Control Panel. Select Programs and Features. Find Codex-Mini in the list and click Uninstall. This removes the app and all associated temporary data from your machine.
Keep your folder names simple to help the app organize files better. Use consistent tags for similar document types. This habit makes searching much faster as your collection grows. Regularly check the folder settings in the app to ensure all your target directories remain active.
This software remains free to use for personal tasks. You do not pay fees to access features. The development of Codex-Mini focuses on creating a clean, stable experience for all users who value organization.
