Fixes GHSA-4xgf-cpjx-pc3j: NestedSecretsSettingsSource with secrets_nested_subdir=True could follow a symbolic link inside secrets_dir pointing outside it, reading out-of-tree files into settings values and bypassing the secrets_dir_max_size cap. Affected versions: >= 2.12.0, < 2.14.2.

Security claim confirmed: GHSA-4xgf-cpjx-pc3j (symlink escape in NestedSecretsSettingsSource) is real and fixed in 2.14.2. Prior pin 2.12.0 was in the affected range (>=2.12.0, <2.14.2). No breaking changes across intervening releases (2.14.0/2.14.1/2.14.2 are bugfix-only).

Exposure assessment: pydantic-settings is transitive via mcp 1.27.1. Recce source has zero direct usage of the dependency or the vulnerable nested-secrets code path.
