support for PyCharm or VSCode?

Hi, thanks for this, works great in JupyterLab! I'm unable to get it to work in either PyCharm or VSCode. There's no output at all. I believe I have all the proper permissions set up. I don't see any error messages. Any ideas?

Quick update, in the Developer Tools in VSCode I do see this error:

Also, the example code from the Desmos API tutorial works fine like this in both VSCode and PyCharm:

Maybe there's a difference in the core JavaScript implementation in VSCode or something? I have no knowledge about how IPython normally manipulates the DOM but I'm happy to read up on it

Honestly, I'm not sure why that should be different than in JupyterLab. That e.appendChild error suggests that something is being interpreted as a string instead of a javascript object, or that the dom element being appended to is invalid, but this is internal to desmos, so my expectation would be that this should work either way. You might try a simple example passing a python dict to setExpression, but other than that, sorry to say I'm at a loss too.
