Preparations for executing skript

• install and configure AWS CLI
• Get data from S3 and store it in ./s3
  • From S3

    aws s3 sync s3://<AWS_BUCKET_NAME>/ s3

  • Data from archive
    • Setup Git Large File Storage
    • extract s3.tar.gz

      tar -xzvf s3.tar.gz

• Set the following environment variables:
  • AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID
  • AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY
  • AWS_BUCKET_NAME
  • PROJECT_DIR

Base scripts

• create spot / normal EC2 instance with aws.py
• create bar chart plot.py

Debug execution

• login in to instance
• Check the log of your user data script in:
  • /var/log/cloud-init-output.log
