Biomedical engineer and backend developer based in Valencia, Spain.
I work on the intersection of software engineering, healthcare interoperability and compliance tooling. Day job is Java/Spring on hospital information systems at Laberit. On the side I build small, focused tools around DICOM, FHIR and the regulatory surface that comes with shipping software into clinical environments (MDR, GDPR, SBOMs).
Computer vision applied to medical imaging. My final-year thesis (RiuNet, UPV) trained a multi-instance-learning classifier on histopathology whole-slide images using CONCH foundation-model embeddings, and measured inter-hospital fairness gaps on the AI4SkIN skin-cancer dataset. F1 0.89 weighted, inter-hospital gap 0.19. Bias measurement on SaMD is a topic I care about a lot.
Backend in Java / Spring Boot. Two years writing production code against HIS/RIS/PACS-adjacent systems. I am comfortable with JPA, transactional design, message-driven workflows (RabbitMQ), and the kind of integration plumbing that healthcare software inevitably needs.
- dcm-anon: DICOM anonymization toolkit, mapped to GDPR Art. 35 DPIA and HIPAA Safe Harbor.
- dcm-anon-vault: hosted single-tenant pseudonymization API on top of dcm-anon, PS3.15 Basic Profile, deterministic per-customer UID remap.
- fmm-fairness-eval-cli: fairness and bias evaluation CLI for medical AI, research output from the TFG line of work.
- zesFin: personal finance and FIRE calculator, Spring Boot REST + React/Vite/TS. Side project, Boglehead-style portfolio manager.
I also curate a few awesome-* lists in areas adjacent to the work above: healthcare, FHIR, DICOM, SBOM, GDPR, compliance.
Python, Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Docker, React (Vite/TS). PyTorch for the imaging side. Linux at home, Windows at work.
