Open-source music software you actually own. Free forever, for everyone.
Cassette Lab builds software for people who want their music library to be theirs — self-hosted, private, and free of the tricks that big-tech apps use to lock you in. No ads, no tracking, no subscriptions, no dark patterns. Just your music.
We believe the tools you use every day shouldn't hold your data hostage or rent you access to your own collection. So everything we make is open-source, self-hosted-first, and 100% free — today and forever.
- Free for everyone, always. No paywalls, no in-app purchases, no premium tier. Support is welcome but never required.
- Open source by default. Every line is public. Read it, fork it, improve it, run it yourself.
- Self-hosted-first. Your library lives on your server (Navidrome, Subsonic, or any OpenSubsonic-compatible backend). We're a client, not a landlord.
- Privacy is not a feature, it's the baseline. No analytics harvesting, no accounts you don't control, credentials stay on your device.
- Built to last. Native, dependency-light, and boring in all the right ways.
