Keep crashing on Mac OS Tahoe 26.4

Reproduction

Open the app and after some time, it crashes by itself.
Restarted my Mac and it didn't help.

Thanks for reporting this. A few things that might help here:

Recent crash hardening work: PR #1777 (macOS desktop crash hardening) was merged on May 1st and includes fixes for panic handling in ScreenCaptureKit callbacks, window lifecycle guards, and audio buffer validation. However, this was merged after version 0.4.84 was released (April 15th). There's a draft release 0.4.85 that includes these fixes - you might want to try it when it becomes available.

Related macOS Tahoe issues: There are several open issues related to macOS 26 (Tahoe) compatibility:

• #1654 - SCShareableContent display mapping issues on macOS 26
• #1742 - Crash when quitting the app (also on 0.4.84)
• #1535 - WriterFailed crashes during recording on macOS Tahoe

The crash happening "after some time" without being actively recording could point to either the app cleanup code or idle state monitoring. PR #1777 specifically addressed panic handling in lib.rs window lifecycle handlers and ScreenCaptureKit delegate callbacks that could cause crashes during idle periods.

For debugging: Could you share the content of the crash report file (the attachment URL seems inaccessible)? Additionally, any logs from ~/Library/Logs/so.cap.desktop/ would help identify which code path is triggering the crash. Key things to look for would be whether it's a SIGABRT in ScreenCaptureKit callbacks or a panic in the Tauri window lifecycle.

If I record, it works fine. But if I don’t record and just scroll or do something else, the app crashes after some time.
