The home of the Brock University Computer Science Club on the web. 900+ students who code, connect and create together.

For everyone

The public side of brockcsc.ca. No account needed.

Home — what the club is, and what's on next.
Events — now, upcoming and past, searchable by title, presenter or location. Each has a poster, a sign-up link and Add to calendar.
Team — current execs by role, with photo, bio and socials. Past execs have their own wall.
CS Guide — course codes, credit types, program requirements and where to get help.
Links — Discord, ExperienceBU, Instagram, GitHub and LinkedIn.

For the exec team

Sign in and you land on a tile menu — one card per thing you're allowed to do.

Email — webmail for your @brockcsc.ca mailbox. Threads, search, rich-text compose with attachments, reply and forward with quoting, star, archive and move. Your signature is added for you.
Analytics — 30 days of page views, top pages, mail sent versus received, sign-ups waiting on you, and who is missing a photo. Only path and time are recorded: no cookies, no IPs.
Events — publish and edit events: poster, location, times, repeat rule, sign-up link. Live the moment you save.
Users (co-presidents) — approve sign-ups, change roles, provision mailboxes, move people to the alumni wall. Every action lists what it will do before you confirm, as a checklist you can untick.
Profile — your own team page tile: photo with a focal-point picker, bio, terms served and socials, previewed as you type. A toggle hides you.

Search everything with K

⌘K anywhere in the portal searches mail, people and events in one box, and runs commands: compose, create an event, review sign-ups, switch theme, log out.

The command palette: one search box over mail, people and events, with the mail operators from:, to:, subject:, in:, has:attachment, is:unread and is:starred

Tab completes operators, in: suggests your folders, and searches skip the bin and junk unless you ask for them.

Keyboard shortcuts in mail

Mail shortcuts: j and k next and previous message, r reply, e archive, # delete, s star, / search, u or Esc close the message, ⌘K search everything

Outside mail apps

Your mailbox works in any IMAP app, but not with your portal password. Make an app password at /admin/mail/setup, one per device, and use it as the password with your full club address as the username. Apple devices get a one-tap profile from the same page; Outlook and Thunderbird find the servers by themselves.

Sending limits

Club mail is metered, so everyone has a daily allowance, shown in the sidebar. Run low and a Request more button appears; a co-president approves it. Resets at midnight.

Getting an account

Exec accounts aren't self-serve. You need an invite code from a current exec — it rotates weekly, so ask for a fresh one.

Four steps: get the weekly invite code from an exec, sign up with it and your Brock email, write down the six-character code shown once, then a co-president approves and your mailbox is created

  1. Sign up at brockcsc.ca/signup with the code and your Brock email. Former execs tick the box.
  2. You get your username, your @brockcsc.ca address, and a six-character code. Save it: it is shown once and cannot be resent.
  3. Give that code to a co-president, so they know the request is yours.
  4. On approval your login works and your mailbox exists. Nothing is emailed, so check with them.

Then sign in at brockcsc.ca/admin.

The look

Neubrutalist: flat colour, thick outlines, hard shadows in brand red (#9A4440). No gradients, no blur. Buttons press, cards lift.

The dark theme is a real design, not an inversion: its own palette (#e08a82), shadows darker than the page. Toggle it in the navbar or with ⌘K; it sticks between visits.
