Mutex

Mutex is a browser extension for JioHotstar cricket streams that helps you stay locked in on the match. It automatically mutes ad breaks and softens the screen with blur and fade effects, so the flow of the game feels far less interrupted.

Features

  • Automatically mutes audio during detected ad breaks
  • Applies blur and fade effects while ads are playing
  • Uses a layered detection pipeline: network, DOM, and fallback checks
  • Includes popup controls for adjusting blur and fade strength
  • Supports Chrome, Edge, and Firefox

Install the Extension in Chrome or Edge

  1. Download the extension from the Releases page.
  2. Extract the ZIP file to a folder on your computer.
  3. Keep that extracted folder in place after installation, because the browser loads the extension directly from it.
  4. Open chrome://extensions in your browser.
  5. Enable Developer mode.
  6. Click Load unpacked.
  7. Select the extracted folder.

Mutex should now be installed and ready to use. Pin it to your toolbar for quicker access during matches.

Contributing

This is an open source project, and contributions of all kinds are welcome and appreciated. If you spot a bug, have an idea for an improvement, or want to request a new feature, feel free to open an issue.

Pull requests are welcome too. Whether you are fixing something small, improving detection reliability, polishing the UI, or proposing a bigger feature, every contribution helps make Mutex better for cricket fans.
