Release 1.0.0

First stable release. Declares the public API stable under SemVer. No code changes since 0.3.0 — this only bumps the version and finalizes the changelog.

Changes

  • Cargo.toml: version 0.3.0 → 1.0.0
  • CHANGELOG.md: [Unreleased] → [1.0.0] - 2026-06-11, with a note that the public API (RangeOrd/rcmp, PartialRangeOrd/partial_rcmp, RangeOrdering, RangePosition, BoundOrdering, BorrowRange) is now stable.

What's in 1.0.0 (carried from the prior merged work)

  • RangeOrdering::Empty and honest partial-order handling (resolves Fix handling of empty range #6)
  • #[no_std], zero dependencies
  • crates.io metadata (keywords, categories, rust-version, readme)
  • MSRV lowered to 1.35

Verification

  • cargo test --all green (unit + doctests)
  • cargo publish --dry-run packages range-cmp v1.0.0 cleanly (verify step passes)

After merge — to publish (needs crates.io credentials, not available in the CI/web environment)

git checkout master && git pull
git tag v1.0.0 && git push origin v1.0.0
cargo publish # with CARGO_REGISTRY_TOKEN / cargo login
