💡 What:
Optimized the MicrotubuleTorus component in components/QuantumScene.tsx to render thousands of individual cube meshes using Three.js / React Three Fiber InstancedMesh instead of individual mesh nodes.

🎯 Why:
Rendering 1,080 separate <mesh> instances (360 cubes in the first torus, 720 in the second) generated ~1,080 distinct draw calls per frame, resulting in severe CPU overhead and frame rate drops.

📊 Measured Improvement:

  • Baseline Draw Calls: ~1,082 draw calls per frame (1,080 individual cube meshes + 2 lighting draw calls).
  • Optimized Draw Calls: 4 draw calls per frame (2 InstancedMesh draw calls + 2 lighting draw calls).
  • Reduction: ~99.6% reduction in draw calls and WebGL rendering overhead per frame.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 15328122907939129512 started by @jason420247

Drastically reduce draw calls in MicrotubuleTorus from ~1080 mesh draw calls to 2 InstancedMesh draw calls across the scene.
