💡 What:
Optimized MicrotubuleTorus in components/QuantumScene.tsx using Three.js InstancedMesh (<instancedMesh>) in React Three Fiber. Single reusable THREE.Object3D matrix transformations are calculated in useFrame loop and flushed via setMatrixAt and instanceMatrix.needsUpdate = true.

🎯 Why:
Rendering individual meshes for thousands of elements causes high draw call overhead and GPU state switching. Grouping geometry instances into InstancedMesh reduces draw calls dramatically.

📊 Measured Improvement:

  • Baseline Draw Calls: ~1082 draw calls per frame (360 + 720 individual mesh nodes + lights).
  • Optimized Draw Calls: 4 draw calls per frame (1 instanced mesh per torus component + lights).
  • Improvement: >99.6% reduction in per-frame draw call overhead.
