CustomAmongUsMaps

Documentation on how to make and load your custom map into Among Us!

Setting up the Environment

  • Install an IDE like Jetbrains Rider, VS Code or Visual Stdio ( This tutorial is made with Jetbrains Rider in mind ).
  • Install a Unity Editor ( specifically get v2022.3.44f1, no newer, no older ), Unity Hub is optional but adds some features.

Jetbrains Rider setup

  • After installing and opening Rider for the first time, it may ask for a license which you can pick a license you prefer.
  • Create a new Class Library project using net 6.0 from SDK 6.0 (install the dotnet sdk if you havent ).

Unity Project setup

  • You can create a new project through the editor or Unity Hub if you have it installed. (ensure your editor version is v2022.3.44f1).

Introduction

  • Making Among Us maps from scratch without a tool like LevelImposter is hard, If you arent willing to take the difficulty, It's best if you use something like LI.
  • This guide will exactly explain every aspect of making a Custom Map, from the Prequisites, to art and to Implementation in mod.
  • So you better,

Pay Attention!!!

  • You can view the map art guide over on the Art Guide.
  • The mod implementation is split into two as in Unity side and Code side.
  • The only part i cant help you with is the map layout. Get together with some of your friends, or showcase your ideas to a community. With enough feedback you''ll be done in no time. This is the most important part since if you start making assets and you later find out the layout is bad, the hard work will be for nothing. So take your time!
