1-3 old messages showing at the very bottom of a conversation

Hello! Just updated to the latest production release of Wire Android from Google Play. For me, one ancient message is displayed at the very bottom of our conversation, and it doesn't seem to sort by date anymore. For a friend, it's showing 3 very old messages from years ago at the bottom. Restarting phone doesn't resolve. Thank you!
