A budget turns upgrade debt into a CI gate — green when you are within it, red when you are not. The demo must be a recording that actually fails.

The honest failing gate

node-turborepo/budget is the recorded failing gate (exit 2). Watch the epilogue — the score exceeded budget 60. Do not quote a DriftScore in this thread; the player is the proof.

Passing budget example (Scan docs)

java-spring/budget is the Scan-docs budget example — it exits 0 (under 60). Fine as a passing contrast; it is not the failing-gate demo.
