Percentage is not precise and does not go back to the correct position.

Hi there!

I just installed Codexa in a docker container, added my OPDS library and tried a few books. The percentage looks off (it only moves in chunks, making the book position weird), and when exiting the book and then going back to it, the percentage is not where I last left it.

I’m using Safari, and intend to use it with PWA (but this is not in a PWA yet).

Can you check TOC in the book? Click on top left button in top menu in reader. To me it looks like TOC is broken.

And finding exact position in between chapters is always hard to achive. The best way would be track only chapter start, but wife was reading a book with VERY long chapters that she couldn't finish so I did implement in chapter sync progress, but it is still not 100% reliable.

What is the backend? Grimmory? Book Orbit?

Hi there, thank you for replying so quickly! The table of content looks good I guess? I see cover, intro, all numerated chapters and acknowledgement at the end (just like the book). Should I look for something in specific? I imagine it's hard indeed, since every device has a different page count. What about getting the first line of the current text in the device, would that be possible? My backend is Book Orbit.

Let me find some time and test with that book my wife was reading. I think Book Orbit also doesn't handle yet true per page sync position, but only per start of chapter. I will see if I can improve this at least on Codexa site.

Can you pull latest docker image with version v2.3.0 and check if it solves the percentage drift?
