Hi, I’m Hasan — also known as timeout187

I’m a software engineering lead, founder, and open-source developer working across scientific computing, engineering simulation, infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, and developer tooling.

My work is intentionally multidisciplinary. I build and contribute to software that addresses scientific, technical, operational, and community-scale problems.

Areas of work

My current and planned open-source work spans:

  • Scientific computing and numerical methods
  • Physics-based and engineering simulation
  • Research software and computational tooling
  • Infrastructure and systems engineering
  • Cybersecurity and abuse prevention
  • Developer tools, libraries, and APIs
  • Automation and orchestration platforms
  • Monitoring, observability, and reliability
  • Self-hosted software and open-source services
  • Data processing and technical visualization
  • Community platforms, bots, and moderation systems
  • Experimental and applied engineering projects

I am particularly interested in projects where software engineering intersects with science, research, infrastructure, automation, and real-world technical operations.

Engineering approach

I aim to build software that is:

  • Technically rigorous
  • Useful beyond a basic prototype
  • Secure and maintainable
  • Documented and reproducible
  • Testable and extensible
  • Suitable for collaboration
  • Deployable in real environments
  • Accessible to developers, researchers, engineers, and technical teams

My work also includes modernizing existing software, improving architecture, strengthening testing, automating development workflows, expanding documentation, and improving long-term maintainability.

Why sponsor my work?

Open-source engineering requires more than initial development. It includes research, validation, testing, documentation, infrastructure, dependency maintenance, security reviews, issue management, releases, and long-term support.

Sponsorship helps fund:

  • Development and testing infrastructure
  • Scientific and engineering compute resources
  • Servers, storage, databases, and monitoring
  • CI/CD and automated quality assurance
  • Security testing and dependency maintenance
  • Technical documentation and tutorials
  • Research, prototyping, and validation
  • Maintenance of existing open-source software
  • Development of new public projects
  • Community support and contributor onboarding

Funding supports my broader open-source work across multiple technical disciplines rather than being limited to one repository.

Sponsor benefits

Depending on the sponsorship tier, sponsors may receive:

  • Recognition in project documentation
  • Sponsor listings and profile badges
  • Development and roadmap updates
  • Early previews of upcoming work
  • Priority consideration for issue review
  • Priority consideration for feature proposals
  • Recognition in release notes
  • Access to sponsor or community channels

Sponsorship does not purchase control over a project or guarantee implementation of a specific feature. Engineering decisions remain based on technical quality, security, maintainability, and community value.

Long-term direction

My goal is to build a sustainable, multidisciplinary open-source engineering portfolio spanning science, simulation, infrastructure, security, research, automation, and developer tooling.

By sponsoring my work, you support independent engineering and publicly available software that developers, researchers, technical teams, businesses, and communities can use, study, extend, and improve.

Thank you for supporting my open-source work.
