Map data
The Docker images published from this project embed databases derived from
OpenStreetMap data: Valhalla routing tiles, a Photon geocoding index, and a
PMTiles vector tile database.
Map data (c) OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database
License (ODbL) 1.0: https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/
OSM extracts are downloaded from Geofabrik: https://download.geofabrik.de/
These derivative databases are themselves made available under ODbL 1.0.
Per ODbL section 4.6, the full derivative databases are the freely pullable
images at ghcr.io/roma8ok/getmapstack/{country}, and the method of creating
them is the public build pipeline in build/valhalla/, build/photon/, and
build/planetiler/ applied to the Geofabrik extracts above.
If you publicly use routing or geocoding results from these images (for
example in an application or on a map), you must credit OpenStreetMap:
"(c) OpenStreetMap contributors" with a link to
https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright
See: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Licence/Attribution_Guidelines
The vector tile schema follows OpenMapTiles, available under CC-BY 4.0:
https://openmaptiles.org/ Low-zoom context data comes from Natural Earth,
public domain: https://www.naturalearthdata.com/ Coastline water polygons
come from osmdata.openstreetmap.de, available under ODbL 1.0. Maps rendered
from these tiles must show visible credit:
"(c) OpenMapTiles (c) OpenStreetMap contributors"
Third-party software
The published images also bundle third-party software components (Valhalla,
prime_server, Photon, Martin, Ubuntu packages) and third-party map design
assets: bundled Noto fonts, and the OpenFreeMap Bright style with its icons
(https://github.com/hyperknot/openfreemap-styles, a fork of OpenMapTiles'
OSM Bright). Their license texts ship inside each image: see
/usr/share/doc/getmapstack/THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES and
/usr/share/doc/valhalla-deps/.
