I am a data professional based in Richmond, VA with a background in physics and more than a decade of experience working with technical systems, data workflows, reporting, and client implementations.

Through Pinecone Data, I help improve repetitive data and reporting processes by making them clearer, more reliable, and easier to maintain.

Experience

My professional experience spans data science, software implementation, workflow automation, and scientific research.

As a Senior Data Scientist at a web performance company, I worked with Python, SQL, browser automation, web scraping, and unstructured data. My responsibilities included developing test cases, customizing data collection, automating scheduled reports, preparing datasets for analysis, and creating visualizations that made technical information more accessible.

As an Implementation Manager at an equity management company, I led client migrations onto a new software platform. That work involved ETL processes, database queries, data validation, project documentation, technical support, and client training.

Earlier in my career, I worked in the Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at the University of Arizona, where I contributed to improvements in radioisotope dating equipment. I also developed and hosted a particle physics masterclass for local high school students.

How I Approach Projects

<p>
    I tend to work best on projects where the underlying process is useful
    but unnecessarily manual, difficult to reproduce, or hard to explain.
    I focus on understanding the current workflow, identifying where
    complexity or repetition can be reduced, and building a solution that
    remains understandable after the initial implementation.
</p>
<p>
    My physics background influences this approach: define the problem,
    examine the available evidence, test assumptions, and document the
    result clearly.
