Triage: open issues recommended for closure #4808

Description

@ocelotl

The issues below are those that still stand as recommended for closure after an independent reverification against current main (the reverification re-checked each issue's rationale in code and on the live thread). Issues that were flagged in the tables above but did not survive reverification — because a claimed fix is not actually present, a canonical duplicate is still open, or remaining work exists — are intentionally omitted.

Grouped by category. GitHub color-codes the references, so open issues render one color and closed issues another — a quick visual of overall progress.

Resolved — fix already shipped or already implemented (38)

Obsolete — EOL Python, removed tooling/library, or non-reproducible environment (12)

Duplicate — duplicates another issue (5)

Wontfix / out-of-scope — belongs in core, policy decision, or declined (13)

Stale — abandoned, low-value, or no path forward (10)
