Here's a summary of the major developments and features added last week:

✨ Screens & Interface Enhancements:

• Manage Macros Screen: It's now easier to see what each button action (Macro) does, with a short summary like "Key: A (Tap)" displayed in the list.
• Manage Layouts Screen:
  • The "Import" button is now labeled "Import File" for clarity.
  • Reordering your layouts by dragging them is smoother and looks better.
  • The delete icon is more prominent, and Edit/Export buttons are more clearly active or inactive.
• Editing Buttons & Layouts:
  • When assigning an action to a button, the list of actions is now filtered to only show ones that are ready to use. You'll also get better messages if something is not right.
  • The dialog for adding or editing layouts now correctly clears old information when you switch tasks.

🚀 Performance & User Experience:

• Faster Layout Switching: Moving between your different button layouts should now feel quicker and smoother.
• Clearer PC Import: If you're importing a layout from your PC, the on-screen instructions now clearly show the web address your PC should connect to.

🛠️ Behind the Scenes & Installation:

• Cleaner Uninstallation (PC Software): When you uninstall the PC companion software, it will now always remove all its settings and log files.
• We've continued to make internal improvements to how the app handles layouts and button actions, aiming for better reliability.

⚙️ Technical Summary (May 19 - May 25):

• UI & Layout Rendering:
  • Refactored MainViewModel and MainScreen to cache and pre-render layouts (cachedLayoutsToRenderState), using graphicsLayer and zIndex for smoother transitions. FreeFormLayout now receives layoutId explicitly.
  • Enhanced ManageLayoutsScreen UI/UX for drag-and-drop (styling, logic) and item states.
• ViewModel & Repository Layer:
  • ManageLayoutsViewModel updated to use LayoutEntity; PC import flow improved (temp file, server URL display).
  • LayoutRepository: getLayoutItemsFlow converted to a cold Flow; improved saveLayoutItems logging and default button ID generation.
  • SplashViewModel calls new LayoutRepository.addDefaultLayoutsIfFirstLaunch().
• Data Handling & Dialogs:
  • InputAction gained a toSimplifiedString() extension, now displayed in ManageMacrosScreen.
  • AddEditLayoutDialog state correctly resets using layoutToEdit.id as a key.
  • AddEditButtonDialog now filters macros by effectiveInputAction and has improved UX for command selection.
• Build & Infrastructure:
  • PC Uninstaller now unconditionally removes user settings from AppData.
  • AppDatabaseCallback is now Hilt-managed for improved DI.
