Here's a summary of the major developments and features added last week:

✨ Screens & Navigation:

• Made it easier to move between different app sections like the Main Screen, Settings, and Layout Management, adding smooth transitions.
• Built a new "Manage Layouts" screen where you can see all your layouts, rearrange them by dragging, add new ones, edit names/icons, and delete them.
• Improved the Settings screen and connected it to the new layout management area.

💾 Layouts & Button Actions (Macros):

• Introduced a better system for saving and organizing custom button actions (now called "Macros").
• The app now includes a set of default button actions ready to use when you first install or reset.
• Updated how layouts use these button actions, making things more consistent.
• Tidied up the standard layouts provided with the app.

🖼️ User Interface & Experience:

• Added a pop-up window for easily adding new layouts or editing existing ones.
• Improved how icons are displayed throughout the app.
• Added a convenient "Add Layout" button directly on the main screen.
• Included more sound effects for button presses and other interactions.

🔄 Layout Import/Export:

• You can now export your custom layouts to a file, allowing you to back them up or share them.
• You can also import layout files shared by others or previously saved by you.
• Added clear "Import" and "Export" buttons on the layout management screen.

⚙️ Technical Summary (Apr 28 - May 4, 2025):

• Core Architecture & Navigation:
  • Implemented Jetpack Compose Navigation (NavHost, AppScreenRoute, rememberNavController) with screen transitions.
  • Introduced ManageLayoutsViewModel and SettingViewModel. MainActivity and MainViewModel refactored accordingly.
  • Updated Hilt to 1.2.0; Added androidx.navigation:navigation-compose dependency.
• Database & Data Management (Macros):
  • Integrated Room DB for macros (AppDatabase, MacroEntity, MacroDao). AppDatabaseCallback loads default macros from JSON.
  • Added type converters for InputAction (stored as JSON). Hilt DI for DB components.
  • Created MacroRepository. Components (e.g., FreeFormLayout, MainViewModel) updated to use macroId and the new MacroEntity structure.
  • Removed legacy Command object, KeyMapper, and raw layout systems.
• Layout Management Features:
  • Introduced AddEditLayoutDialog (replacing AddLayoutDialog) for creating/editing layouts.
  • Added IconMapper for centralized icon management.
  • Implemented import/export functionality for layouts (ExportedLayout data class, ImportResultDialog, CreateDocument/OpenDocument launchers in ManageLayoutsScreen, MainViewModel logic).
