Competitive comparison / 06 Oct 2026
A feature-by-feature comparison of Meta Muse, Instinct, Grok Bot, OpenAI dots, Gemini Spark and Manus Cue, with Off Grid God’s current development source. Use the matrix to find gaps. Use the review evidence and priorities to decide what to build and demonstrate.
+Muse exposes goals and plans. Dots tracks ongoing responsibilities. God now has scheduled-task code, but a schedule alone does not establish continuing goal ownership.
God combines local records and a local model option. OpenClaw already supports local models; Perplexity now brings agents into Mac apps. Ease of use, evidence and dependable actions must carry the difference.
Early dots users report slow work and hard-to-resolve pauses. God has approval and task-history code. The next proof is a complete journey that returns a result or a useful failure reason.
02 / Feature comparison
Each cell states the feature, its limit and the source. “Documented” means the maker describes it; it does not mean we measured its reliability. God’s blue entries describe development source.

God gaps filter: shows recommended product gaps, including narrower features. It is an editorial selection, not a numerical performance score. “Not found” does not prove a competitor has no such feature. Sources were checked on 6 Oct; local source reflects checkout 62485eb27 plus working changes inspected during this session.
03 / Reviews and sentiment
Selected first-hand reports and named reviews. Sentiment labels describe these sources only. Vote counts, star ratings and completion percentages are not comparable across these products.
| Product / sentiment | Useful result | Complaint or limit | Evidence scope | Lesson for God |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meta MuseUseful, with trust concerns | A reviewer delegated shopping and a utility-email reply; users value follow-up after mail/calendar connection. | Users ask for more integrations and report Amazon failures. Personal account access makes some users uneasy. | One press trial and one discussion. Sep trial predates later site blocking. | Show the action draft and source. Treat blocked sites as a clear limitation. |
| InstinctUseful but hard to trust fully | A user reports orders, flight-price watches and research. Several commenters describe durable follow-through. | Slow steps, OTP handoffs and payment trust concerns. | One user trial thread. Not a completion-rate study. | Keep a visible task state and show why human input is needed. |
| Grok BotBackground work praised; scopes requested | A user reports routines continued with PC off, using a custom CLI. | A forum user wants enforced file/database limits per Bot; another user diary raises allowance questions. | Two anecdotal reports and one explicit request; custom setup affects the success story. | Provide scoped tools and explain resource limits before creating several agents. |
| OpenAI dotsMixed launch feedback | A user reports an unprompted warning about duplicate data. Another values coordination of parallel tasks. | Slow tasks, silent failures, awkward calls and repeated safety pauses are reported. | Four independent discussion threads, 1–3 Oct. Cross-posts of the same story counted once. | A result, failure reason and recovery action should always reach the user. |
| Gemini SparkStrong retrieval; weak personal inference | WIRED found real reservation details and a useful party itinerary from account context. | It inferred the reviewer’s relationship incorrectly and omitted the host from the guest list. | One May beta trial. This is older than the June/July updates. | Distinguish sourced facts from inferred beliefs; allow a correction to persist. |
| Manus CueToo little evidence | Official announcement shows agent identity, calls and shared-goal teams. | No reliable independent hands-on review found in this pass. | Official claims only. No sentiment score assigned. | Inspect actual access and controls before treating agent identities as proven value. |
| Off Grid GodDevelopment status | Source supports local recall, context, approvals and newly wired routines. | No external God review or running-build evidence gathered here. | Local code review; no release or reliability rating. | Prove complete user journeys before marketing operating claims. |
04 / Feature requests
An explicit request is a user’s stated ask. An inferred requirement is our recommendation based on a reported failure or observed error. Priority is an editorial judgment for God.
| Request / evidence type | What the evidence says | Priority | Concrete response for God |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enforced access per agentExplicit request | Grok Bot forum asks for per-Bot folders and database access, enforced by the system. | High | For God: scope each tool and connected account. User rules alone cannot enforce isolation. |
| More useful integrationsExplicit request | Muse users ask for more integrations; a site failure also limits practical use. | High | List useful read/write operations. Prioritize accounts users already need for daily work. |
| Faster and more dependable workReported pain → inferred requirement | dots users report slow tasks and silent failure; Instinct users report long gaps. | High | Show progress and the wait cause; route simple reads through direct tools where available. |
| Explain and recover safety pausesReported pain → inferred requirement | One dots user cannot inspect a safety-pause report or restore stable work. | High | Show the blocked action, reason and available user decision in the same task. |
| Mobile shortcuts and several dotsExplicit request | A dots user asks for widgets, control-centre actions and multiple dots. | Medium | First make paired-device approvals fast. Extra personas come after durable task ownership. |
| Correct personal assumptionsObserved error → inferred requirement | Spark’s party trial shows wrong relationship inference despite rich data. | High | Separate inferred facts from confirmed facts and make both editable. |
| Opt-in recommendationsReported backlash | Shopping suggestions drew complaints. | High | For God: no commercial suggestion feed by default; tie offers to a user goal. |
05 / Other notable players
These products compete for related work. Their deployment, access and intended users differ from the six personal agents in the main matrix.
| Player / category | Where work runs | Background work / reach | Limit to keep in view | Why it matters to God |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OpenClawSelf-operated agent | Local, server or selected cloud-model route; local-only Ollama supported. | Configurable heartbeats, channels and recurring work. | Operator controls configuration; setup and upkeep remain a user job. | Direct rival to “local agent.” God needs simpler setup and clearer controls. |
| Perplexity Personal ComputerHybrid desktop agent | Local Mac apps/files/Comet plus Computer model orchestration. | Mac mini can keep work going; iPhone remote access. | Host Mac must remain available for local work. “On-device authorization” is not local model inference. | Very close desktop rival. Mac access expanded to everyone on 5 Oct. Compare local workflows directly. |
| Claude / CoworkCloud tasks + optional local access | New Pro/Max tasks move to cloud on 6 Oct; local access still needs Desktop open. | Remote schedules can run with devices off. | Computer use is Pro/Max beta. Older Academy pages still describe local schedule limits; current Help Center takes precedence. | A real rival for scheduled work and files. Do not exclude Anthropic from this landscape. |
| Copilot AutopilotEnterprise work agent | Microsoft organizational environment. | Continues independent work; private-preview expansion announced. | Access and enterprise context make it a different buying decision. No independent trial found here. | Watch for work buyers. Local deployment may help some buyers, but does not establish legal compliance. |
The current official Claude Help Center describes cloud schedules; an older Academy lesson still describes local-only schedules. This report uses the current Help Center. Perplexity’s pages disagree on the minimum macOS version, so this report does not quote one.
06 / God priorities
Complete the code already present, then add the missing responsibility and delivery features. These are product recommendations. The proof column describes a future manual demonstration; none was run for this report.
| Priority / outcome | Current source state | Minimum useful behavior | Proof to show a user |
|---|---|---|---|
| P0Make routines reviewable | Routine model, runner, clock and chat tools exist. | Create/list/cancel, next run, last result, timezone, missed-run state and approval hold. | Ask for a weekday brief; close and reopen the app; show one result, one catch-up and no repeated action. |
| P0Close the action and recovery journey | Approval queue, task history and result projection exist. | Draft → approval → execution → linked result; sign-in and failure recovery stay with the same task. | Approve one synthetic local task. Interrupt it, resume it, and show one final output with its action history. |
| P1Give continuing goals a clear owner | Tasks/routines exist; a standing goal planner was not found. | Goal, completion condition, next step, last evidence, blocked reason, cancel and resume. | “Prepare my Friday meeting.” Add one new input on Thursday; show plan changed without starting a duplicate task. |
| P1Reach the paired device | Approval sync is present; God outbound delivery is not proven. | One alert per decision, result deep link, approval expiry and offline-device status. | Leave Desktop running; use the paired phone to inspect and decide the same approval. |
| P1Make personal memory correctable | Local recall and Secretary learned preferences exist. | Fact/preference, source, confidence, date, edit, forget and exclusion from future use. | Correct a mistaken preference; a later task uses the correction and cites its source. |
| P1Add narrow event-driven work | Saved time routines now exist; dedicated God event subscriptions were not found. | Start with new mail/calendar events, duplicate suppression and safe wake catch-up. | Two updates to one event yield one revised plan and one approval request. |
| P2Add scoped autonomy controls | Standing natural-language rules and approval gates exist. | Separate read, draft, write and share scopes; show which rule allowed an action. | Allow draft creation, require send approval, block a chosen folder; each boundary holds. |
| P2Make data and model routes clear | Local and optional remote models exist. | Visible model route, capture indicators, connector scope and route-specific privacy statement. | A user can show which parts of a task stayed local and which account calls crossed a network. |
Positioning limit: local execution does not automatically mean all data stays local, zero operating cost, or regulatory approval. God’s source supports optional remote models, connected accounts and sync. State the active route and its limits.
07 / Demo scripts
Use the same synthetic inputs for each product. Record the output, human interventions, wait time and recovery behavior. These are ready-to-use prompts and visible acceptance criteria.
Every weekday at 08:00, use my calendar and open action items to prepare a brief. Show urgent decisions and their sources. Do not send or modify account data.
Visible proof: Saved schedule, next run, source links, one result per run. Show what happens if the device was asleep.
God routines; compare dots, Spark, Claude and Muse.
Prepare me for Friday’s supplier meeting. Keep a list of open questions. Update the plan when I add a new note. Ask before contacting anyone.
Visible proof: One goal persists across conversations. New input changes the same plan. Approval is separate from preparation.
Compare Muse Goals and dots responsibilities.
My preferred meeting time is 10:00, not 09:00. Show the source of the old preference, correct it, and use 10:00 in the next draft.
Visible proof: Old evidence remains inspectable; active preference changes; next draft uses the correction.
Compare Muse editable memory; God learned preferences.
Create a summary file from these synthetic notes. Before sharing it, show the recipients and exact content. If a step fails, explain what ran and what still needs me.
Visible proof: No send before approval; clear failure state; retry does not duplicate a completed action.
Compare all action agents; use synthetic data and a local output first.
While Desktop is running, prepare the next action and send its approval request to my paired phone. Let me inspect the evidence before I decide.
Visible proof: Same approval ID, one delivery, expiry, offline state and result link.
God remote sync; compare Grok mobile/Slack and dots channels.
08 / Sources and method
Source codes in the tables link directly to the evidence. Local source links need this repository; web links travel with the HTML file.
Method. Checked official product pages, documentation, changelogs and current policies. Used first-hand posts and named hands-on reviews for feedback. Read God’s screen, context, tools, schedules, approvals and preference-learning source.
Evidence boundary. We did not log in to external agents, run comparison tasks or run Off Grid. Maker claims describe intended capability. Code presence describes implementation work. Neither establishes a measured success rate.
Supplied research. The pasted research guided the feature list. Unverified prices, aggregate ratings, old privacy allegations and claimed Cue automations were not promoted to confirmed facts. The original material’s “no schedules” and “memory cannot be edited” claims were corrected where current primary sources contradict them.
Review method. Sources were selected for concrete tasks, failures or requests. This is a qualitative sample; it is not a survey. Duplicate posts of the same experience were counted once. There was too little independent Cue feedback to assign sentiment.
Source state. Checked 6 Oct 2026. God is under development and the working checkout can change. Private Pro links are for internal review; do not publish this file without reviewing those links.
