Shared folders / mailboxes all display as "INBOX" instead of their actual names

In the Nextcloud Mail app, shared folders (and possibly shared mailboxes) are all shown with the generic name INBOX in the folder list. This makes it impossible to distinguish between them.In other clients (e.g. Thunderbird) the same folders are correctly displayed with meaningful names — usually the email address of the shared mailbox.

Describe the solution you'd like

Shared folders / mailboxes should display a clear, distinguishable name (preferably the email address or the name configured on the IMAP server), just like Thunderbird and other clients do.

Please take a look at the oc_mail_mailboxes table. Are the mailboxes are also listed as INBOX in the database?

Yes, the name starts with INBOX, there is no information for the actual email account of this INBOX in this table. Maybe there could be a feature to rename the INBOX into a custom string by users.

There's another column delimiter. Does it say . as delimiter?

The default folders starts with INBOX as metioned above. Than i found the shared entries. In my case the entry looks like this: shared/[mail of the shared mailbox]/INBOX.

So the logic could be something like: split the name on "/" if name is "shared", check if name is an actual mail address, if yes display this as name instead of INBOX

I've flipped the labels from enhancement to bug because such a feature / folding does already exist. At least it works over here with my dovecot dev server.

1. Could you please take a look at https://github.com/nextcloud/mail/blob/main/.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/bug_report_form.yml and provide at least mail app version, nextcloud version, and mailserver (at best update the initial comment)

2. We need to find out why the current logic fails on your instance. It might be a wrong delimiter or something else. Can you share some of the rows from oc_mail_mailbox that are not displayed correct?

As mentioned above. our shared folders can be found in the table oc_mail_mailbox as follows:

name: shared/user@company.de/INBOX

Does the delimiter column shows '/' as delimiter or something else?
