What do you want to change?
When a line is selected in split view,
show its old and new versions stacked vertically at the bottom of the screen
(old on top, new below).
This combines split view's side-by-side overview with classic unified diff's easier line-by-line comparison — word-level differences are much easier to spot when the two versions are directly above/below each other rather than side-by-side.
Why?
Some GUI Diff/Merge utilities have this feature, it is very useful!
