google assistance problem

I have a similar issue. When the mirror first boots it plays perfectly my "Brief". After that "Smart Mirror" does not trigger the assistant. The conversation bubble is blinking but the Google Assistant icon is dim. I know the mic is working because I can talk into it and hear my voice.
