Duplicate entries in Sony - Playstation.dat

I have noticed that some games have duplicate entries in the metadat/redump/Sony - PlayStation.dat.
Example Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (Europe) (En,Fr,It) starting on line 73404:

Does this serve a purpose or is it redundant and can be removed?

I am not familiar with any of this, but I assume that fixes it for the compiled rdb files?
Does it make sense to fix it in the dat file itself? I tried to look up where the data from the dat file comes from and I assume it's from Redump. In this case, I cannot see 2 versions with the same data for this game. What's the proper "place" to fix the double entry in case it's indeed an error?
