Tracking issue for jetomev/forgekit#1, which holds the analysis and the design discussion.
On a plain Linux virtual console (Ctrl+Alt+F3, TERM=linux) this app loses most of its visual structure. The console offers 8 colours and 64 pairs; Catppuccin Mocha is a deliberately low-contrast palette, so distinct greys and blues collapse onto the same console colour and panel borders, dim text and body text stop being distinguishable. Emoji and box-drawing glyphs are missing from the default console font, rendering as blanks or boxes — and being width-2, they can also break column alignment.
This app uses 12 distinct hex colours and the glyphs ⚡ ⚙ 📜.
Already on forgekit (it was the first adopter), so it should inherit the fix directly. Worth checking the Dashboard's two-state Start/Stop button in particular — its red 'Stop Miner' state carries meaning through colour alone, which is precisely what an 8-colour terminal flattens.
The fix belongs in forgekit — semantic colour tokens that resolve differently on a low-colour terminal, and a glyph table with ASCII fallbacks — so that every Forge app inherits it rather than each solving it separately. This issue exists so the work is visible from this repo and can be verified here once forgekit ships it.
Verify after the forgekit change: run this app on Ctrl+Alt+F3 and confirm it is readable and navigable. No Forge test matrix has ever included a console run, which is why this went unnoticed.
Found 2026-08-23 during grubForge v1.1.0 testing, when a text console turned out to be a documented supported path rather than an edge case.
