    Open source has a lot of jargon, and almost none of it is explained to you
    before people start using it. Here is what the words actually mean.

    <p>Nobody is born knowing what "upstream" means. If you hit a term that is
    not here, that is a missing entry in this page — open an issue and we will
    add it.</p>

  <h2>Add a term</h2>
  <p class="prose">
    Every entry lives in <code>data/glossary.json</code>. Adding one is a small,
    self-contained change — a good second contribution after the contributor
    wall.

    Keep <code>short</code> to one sentence. Write it for somebody who has never
    used Git, and avoid explaining a word with three other words they also do
    not know.
